Wine and Food, Gisborne is an iconic Labour Weekend tradition - GISSY’s FAVOURITE Celebration of everything this region does best: exceptional wine, delicious food vendors, an array of live music on stages, and great company!
Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting for the long weekend, this is your invitation to unwind and enjoy it all among the vines at Gisborne’s oldest winery – Matawhero, this year’s venue. Co-host and long-time friends and partners, TW Wines will be on-site as well, each bringing their own flavour of the region’s wine, culture, and atmosphere.
We are excited this year to also announce the introduction of some of other local wines and themed bars that allow guests to explore and enjoy all the styles and diversity that Gisborne produce.
Meet the Maker Masterclass
Join us for an exclusive Meet the Maker Masterclass and enjoy a guided tasting of six premium wines (3 x Matawhero Wines and 3 x TW Wines) while hearing firsthand from the people that craft the wines. Discover the stories, vineyards, and winemaking philosophies that shape each wine as you taste your way through a curated selection. Whether you're a wine enthusiast or simply looking for a unique festival experience, this intimate session offers the perfect opportunity to deepen your wine knowledge and connect with the makers behind every bottle.
There are two sessions ; 12.30pm to 1.30pm, and 2pm to 3pm

this year, the bus ride to and from gisborne is optional - purchase a return bus admission alongside Your festival ticket for just $30 and check out the bus timetable as to where and when you can jump on the bus out to the festival.

Refunds will only be offered if the Festival is cancelled by the Festival Organisers or if a postponement date is offered and the ticket holder is not able to make a postponement date.
If any changes to the Festival need to be made by the Festival Organisers - including reducing or adding venue locations or changing times of the Festival, no refunds will be offered.
In the case of a Covid outbreak managed by the NZ Government, refunds will be offered if there is a lock-down that includes Gisborne. If the guest is in lock-down in another city and the Festival is still able to continue, the guest can request an individual refund.
